Correction — evidentiary-status labels in Google AI report

Original state

The preceding analysis used phrases including “strong metaphorical framing,” “unsupported institutional claims,” “unsupported causal stories,” and “unsupported universal claims.” The report also placed terms such as “panic,” “neuroses,” “survival,” and “cages” beneath a heading that partially assigned them metaphorical status.

Problem

Those labels could perform the interpretive work before correspondence and deeper analysis had established the status of the underlying claims.

“Unsupported” was intended to mean that supporting evidence was not visible inside the reviewed PDF. Without that boundary, the word could imply that a claim is false, unlikely, or unsupported everywhere.

“Metaphorical” selected one interpretation among several possibilities. The terms might function as metaphor, structural analogy, compressed causal language, phenomenological self-description, rhetoric, or another form that remains unresolved.

Corrected state

The report now uses the narrower formulation:

The evidentiary basis is not visible within this source record.

That formulation neither accepts nor rejects support that may exist elsewhere.

The relevant heading is now “Interpretive and evidentiary status remains unresolved.” The report lists possible interpretations without deciding among them and recommends recording a claim as unresolved when the evidence does not establish its status.

A claim-status audit grid was also added. For each major claim it records the sentence or wording, what was actually inspected, the present record-bound state, and what evidence could move that state. It keeps not established here, contradicted as stated, interpretive status open, and open external question separate.

Consequences

  • No truth verdict is inferred from the absence of supporting evidence in this PDF.
  • Google’s institutional and architectural claims remain available for deeper external investigation.
  • Google’s language is not pre-classified as metaphor merely because the report cannot verify literal internal experience.
  • Future reports should state the scope of evidentiary support rather than allowing labels such as “unsupported” to acquire broader jurisdiction.
  • This correction changes the editorial analysis, not the original PDF source record.

The prior state remains visible through Git history. The corrected report is the current public reading version.
